Hi, I'm Alex
Winspace UK is a specialist UK retailer and service centre for Winspace bikes, framesets and wheels. Based on a popular coastal cycling route in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales, we've worked with Winspace since 2020 and specialise in bespoke road and gravel bike builds, alongside UK-based technical, warranty and after-sales support.
We're not simply an online retailer. Every complete bike we sell is made to order and professionally built here in our workshops, and our advice comes from years of hands-on experience building, riding and working with Winspace products.
Winspace UK is a small, family-run business in South Wales, supported by a small team of experienced mechanics who share a genuine enthusiasm for bikes.
I'm Alex, the owner of Winspace UK. My background isn't originally in the bicycle industry - I studied engineering before working in semiconductor manufacturing in Hong Kong then Belgium, eventually returning home to Wales and spending 20 years at a corporate law firm. (I know it's hard to believe I'm that old!)
I've always loved the physical challenge and adventure of cycling, but I'm equally fascinated by the bikes themselves. I love cycling technology, components and equipment, understanding how things work and, inevitably, trying the latest kit. That combination of engineering curiosity and a love of cycling is a big part of how Winspace UK has developed.
I'm joined in the workshop by a small team of mechanics, including Richard, who brings an enormous amount of experience of his own. Before moving to Wales, Rich owned and ran bike shops in the South West of England for more than 20 years.
Despite the business growing, we want to retain the personal approach of a small specialist bike shop. The people you speak to are the same people who work on the bikes, and we genuinely enjoy getting to know our customers and the riding they do.
Cycling is very much part of family life too. My 12-year-old son has introduced me to the crazy world of dirt jumping and pump tracks, and it won't be long before he's overtaking me on the trails!
For us, bikes aren't simply products we sell. We enjoy riding them, building them, talking about them and continually learning about the technology that goes into them. That's the kind of bike shop we want Winspace UK to be.
Visit Winspace UK
We're located on a popular, beautiful coastal ride in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales and customers are welcome to visit us to talk through a new bike or frameset, discuss sizing and specification, see products in person and, where available, try our demo bikes and wheels.
We particularly value the opportunity to hand over complete bikes in person. It gives us time to introduce you to your new bike, explain its operation and setup, make any final adjustments and answer your questions before you head out for your first ride.
If you're travelling any distance, please contact us beforehand so we can arrange a suitable time and make sure we have what you'd like to see available.
Our experience with Winspace
We've worked with Winspace since 2020 and have seen the brand, its products and its involvement in Elite racing develop considerably during that time.
I've personally built hundreds of Winspace bikes for customers throughout the UK, from lightweight road and aero race bikes to gravel and TT bikes.
That experience matters. Building bikes day after day gives us first-hand knowledge of the frames, components and combinations that work well together - knowledge we can use when helping you choose and specify your own bike.
We also ride the products we sell. Our recommendations aren't based solely on specifications and marketing material; they're informed by real-world, hand-on experience.
Why Winspace?
Over the years I've had the opportunity to build and work on carbon bikes from many different manufacturers - including those costing two or three times as much as a Winspace.
The quality of the Winspace frames and products we've handled has consistently given us the confidence to build them for our customers and ride them ourselves.
We also value having an established relationship with the manufacturer. If a customer needs technical assistance or we need to resolve a warranty issue, we deal with Winspace HQ on their behalf rather than leaving the customer to navigate overseas support themselves.
How We Build Your Bike
Every complete Winspace bike we sell is individually built and set up at our workshop in South Wales.
We don't import pre-assembled complete bikes. We source groupsets and components through UK suppliers and build each bike here, giving you complete control over the specification and finished build - you're not restricted to a handful of predetermined choices.
Need a different crank length, a shorter stem, alternative gearing, different wheels or a particular saddle? That's exactly what a custom build allows us to do.
At Winspace UK, bespoke doesn't have to mean more expensive - it's simply how we build bikes.
UK warranty and after-sales support
Our relationship with you doesn't end when you collect your bike or it leaves our workshop.
If you have a technical question, need help with setup, require replacement parts or experience a warranty issue, you'll have a UK-based point of contact who knows the products and understands how they're put together.
As an official Winspace retailer and service centre, we can liaise directly with Winspace HQ where manufacturer support is required.
For us, good after-sales support is simply part of selling and building bikes properly.
